Since its inception in the late 70 and early 80s, the dance music scene has undergone an incredible evolution from something of a fringe interest into a worldwide music and entertainment industry. With the growth its undergone, there has always been the need for industry leaders and artists, promoters and DJ/producers to talk and discuss the matters and issues that are most important. Back in 2007, the first IMS or International Music Summit was held in the electronic dance music capital of the world, Ibiza. The event returns in 2019.
What is the IMS Summit?
The IMS summit is essentially three days of networking, music, panels and conferences with lots of useful information being given, lots of heated debates being debated and lots of laughs. The business report released on an annual basis from the IMS is the best source of data in the industry and there are so many long and interesting interviews with legends of the music scene we all love. In the past, interviewees have included Richie Hawtin, Paul Kalkbrenner, Seth Troxler, Paul Van Dyk, Sven Vath, Fatboy Slim, Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rogers, Jean Michel Jarre and renowned and surrealist film direction David Lynch. How do you get badges? Attendees to the International Music Summit are there by invitation. However, you may be able to purchase a delegate badge online. It’s perfect for anyone that wants to get involved with mingling with the most influential figures in the industry. You can learn everything there, from the production, distribution and promotion of electronic dance music, as well as global scenes and global trends. It’s also a good chance to get up close and personal with some of your favourite musicians and producers. As the event is a real highlight of the international dance music calendar and acts as a celebration of the dance music and moves and inspires the industry to make the changes it needs to better serve everyone involved in it.
What About This Year’s Event?
The event takes place this year at the same location in Ibiza and kicks off on Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th of May. As well as focusing on health and wellness in the dance music industry, which has been the big ongoing theme of the event for many years now, it will also cover subjects such as:

As well as the Great Annual Ibiza Debate which is always a highlight.
